The Layrd Studio
In late 2022, we moved into a larger studio at Cambridge Innovation Park. The new space gives us the flexibility to work how we want — whether that’s at sit-stand desks, gathered around a shared table, or tucked into a quiet acoustic booth.

The studio is a reflection of our values. With timber textures, natural tones and biophilic touches throughout, it’s designed to prioritise wellbeing and showcase sustainable choices.
We used low VOC paints across the interior and installed Shaw Contract flooring throughout to balance comfort with environmental responsibility.

A dedicated coffee bar makes the space flexible for both work and social time. It gives us a place to welcome clients and run design workshops, while also encouraging the Layrd team to step away from their desks and connect.

Our tea point is more than just a caffeine stop. It’s a place to pause, chat, and reset. Thoughtful touches like natural textures, soft lighting, and plenty of greenery make it a space people actually want to use.

A curated gallery wall adds warmth, colour and personality to the studio, with prints chosen to complement the palette and spark creativity.
We were careful to make environmentally conscious decisions at every stage. This included specifying low VOC paints by COAT, working with local trades to reduce transport emissions and sourcing materials with lower environmental impact wherever possible.
