G’s Beetroot
G’s Fresh wanted to breathe new life into their canteen and boardroom. Spaces where their teams gather daily to enjoy their breaks, connect and collaborate.
What began as a request for a layout update soon evolved into a full design journey. Layrd was invited to transform both rooms into engaging environments that celebrate G’s culture and values.

The brief was simple: create spaces that feel welcoming, functional and aligned with G’s Fresh values and branding.
The canteen needed to serve multiple roles: a place for daily breaks, team lunches, and large staff meetings. It needed to be durable, flexible, and easy to maintain.
The boardroom required a more professional tone, with improved acoustics, updated furniture, and a refreshed aesthetic aligned with the company’s brand.

Layrd reimagined both rooms as vibrant and functional spaces that blend practicality with personality.
The canteen is now a colourful, flexible breakout area, a space where employees can relax, share meals, and enjoy moments of calm. A newly expanded kitchen supports food preparation, while vending machines are neatly housed within a blue tiled feature wall.
New windows flood the space with natural light and connect the indoors to the surrounding fields.
The boardroom has been transformed into a refined, professional setting, a space equally suited for internal meetings and visiting guests.

The palette draws from G’s roots: deep beetroot reds, leafy greens and bold blues, balanced with warm plywood tones and natural finishes. Making the space authentic, warm and welcoming.

Existing carpet tiles were recycled through Shaw Contract, and their new tiles now define the boardroom floor.
Our designers also selected Autex Acoustics, Graphenstone paints and Tarkett’s loose-lay vinyl flooring, for their circular design principles while offering long-term durability.
Our designers thoughtfully selected the materials and details to create a practical, comfortable, and visually engaging space.
The furniture is wipe-clean, hardwearing, and comfortable, with integrated power for meetings and window tables offering views across the fields; the lighting blends natural light, accent lighting, and neon elements; CORE TP equipped the space with a full sound system, projector, and screen to enhance everyday functionality; and the Autex Talus ceiling raft has significantly improved the boardroom’s acoustic quality.

“This project demonstrates how simple changes can drastically improve employee wellbeing and enjoyment.”
