Three Lions Lounge
Layrd completed a comprehensive interior design scheme for Ipswich Town Football Club’s Three Lions Lounge in February 2025.
This brand-new hospitality destination celebrates the club’s legacy while offering a contemporary, multi-functional venue for fans, corporate guests and private events.
We developed an industrial aesthetic that exposes the building’s structural features, a deliberate nod to Ipswich’s heritage as a working port town.
Bespoke joinery references shipping containers, a recurring motif across the stadium, now cleverly reimagined as integrated food and drink bars. With clear sightlines to the fan zone, the space remains visually and atmospherically connected to the matchday energy, ensuring it feels like an extension of the game rather than a retreat from it.
Upcycled floodlight pendants, shipping container-inspired bars, and Ipswich-blue accents combine to create a space that’s rich in heritage and tailored for experience.
Touches of Ipswich Town blue punctuate a neutral base palette, with bold strip lighting, electric accent furniture and tongue-in-cheek signage – including playful beer lines like ‘From the top corner to the tap, fresh beer in here’. Pendant lights crafted from upcycled stadium floodlights add a functional yet nostalgic design element, while mesh ceiling rafts address the acoustic complexity of the space.
Designed for versatility, the lounge transitions easily from game-day buzz to corporate calm. Zoning through lighting, flooring and furniture helps guide visitors naturally through the space. Whether it's hospitality, meetings or events, the Three Lions Lounge blends football tradition with a bold, modern edge.
