The Press Room
Layrd Design completed the Ipswich Town Press Conference Room in just six weeks during the pre-season period, ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League. Working in collaboration with GS Contracts, we were tasked with creating a state-of-the-art facility that integrates AV and media tech to meet league requirements and perform seamlessly on matchdays.
With promotion came the need for a space that reflected Ipswich Town’s elevated status and represented the club to a global audience.
We transformed a set of underused offices into a modern, professional media suite – one that makes an impression both in person and on camera. The look and feel were carefully aligned with the club’s identity, with bespoke detailing and a sharp, contemporary finish.
To frame the space, we used a dark ceiling and carpet to create a sense of depth and focus. Acoustic geometric wall panels by Synergy Creativ provide both function and visual impact, while bespoke engraved panelling adds a subtle nod to the architecture of Portman Road.
This press room is camera-ready at every angle, from the lighting to the podium and media desk.

Custom embroidery, acoustic detailing and LED-lit steps bring clarity, atmosphere and cohesion to the club’s new media room.
Branding runs throughout the space, with 75 custom embroidered theatre seats creating a bold and unified backdrop. The result is a press room that feels premium, purposeful and true to the club – built for the spotlight and ready to host the biggest moments of the season.
