Ipswich Town Home Dressing Room
The Ipswich Town Home Dressing Room was installed on site within two weeks during the pre-season window, with full turnkey interior design, fit-out, bespoke joinery and project management delivered in collaboration with GS Contracts.
Completed in July 2024, Layrd transformed the tired and outdated space while working around mid-season friendlies, raising the environment to Premier League standard in time for the first home game.
The design enhances the player experience, creating an environment that motivates on matchdays and stands out in the modern football landscape. The space comfortably accommodates 26 players, with custom locker bays that include upholstered seats and backrests, concealed lockers, boot storage and personalised player plaques.
Each bespoke unit is tailored to maximise function while working within the constraints of the existing footprint.
At ceiling level, a decorative bulkhead with club graphics and LED feature strips reinforces Ipswich Town’s identity and values. We worked closely with the club to embed history and purpose into the room, using a palette that reflects their colours and honouring the slogan “Running Towards Adversity”. Zoned lighting controls ensure the dressing room is exceptional for both players and media tours.
Facilities were a priority for the club, and the dressing room has been designed with motivation, flexibility and team unity in mind. The players are seated facing one another in a balanced layout that reinforces a collective mindset. Interchangeable plaques allow for adaptability across squads, ensuring the space can evolve while maintaining a consistent tone of excellence.
