The Layrd Lounge
In summer 2022, Layrd Design completed the full interior design and refurbishment of the Executive Hospitality Suite at Cambridge United Football Club, delivered in collaboration with Regent Construction Cambridge.
The newly transformed space has since been officially named The Layrd Design Lounge, a milestone that also marked the beginning of our official partnership with the club.
The brief was to reimagine a tired, underutilised interior as a bold and atmospheric hospitality venue—one that would not only elevate the match day experience but also help position the space for wider use across events and meetings.
The scheme includes vinyl herringbone flooring running from the reception to the lounge, bespoke wall art, company signage set into a living moss wall, and replica planting supplied by The Good Plant Company. A tiled feature bar and vibrant colour palette add contrast and visual energy.
A fully refurbished hospitality lounge with a bold new identity. Herringbone flooring, tiled feature bar and a vibrant palette give the space year-round appeal for both matchday and event guests.
The space has been completely modernised and now functions as a premium venue for both matchday hospitality and corporate or private bookings. The support of Regent Construction Cambridge was central to delivering a high-quality finish that brings the design to life.
The transition has been quite incredible, at the planning stage, I had full confidence in both Layrd Design and Regent Construction that the outcome would be great, but the final product is beyond my expectations.
The design process was based around creating a premium space for supporters to enjoy a special occasion, entertain clients or simply to upgrade their Matchday experience.
