Coulson Building Group
In May 2023, we delivered interior design and construction drawings for Coulson Building Group, a long-established name in the UK construction sector. Based in East Anglia, they provide building services across commercial, education, healthcare and residential projects.
Their new headquarters needed to do more than function, it had to express expertise, build trust with clients, and support a growing team. To get it right, we surveyed staff across the company, making sure the space worked for how people wanted to work.
The design blends brand-led identity with workplace wellbeing. While the company’s signature deep blue is used confidently throughout, it’s balanced with softer tones to support focus and comfort, creating a space that feels both professional and welcoming.
Acoustic zones help manage sound and support focus, while private spaces allow for deep work when needed. The breakout area is designed for more than just lunch — with booth seating for informal meetings and soft furnishings that encourage social time and team connection.
The layout supports the client’s desire for clarity and organisation. Desks are grouped by team, each with access to natural light, and five new glass-partitioned offices help maintain transparency and connection across departments. The result is a space that feels open, flexible, and human, built for collaboration without sacrificing individual comfort.
We worked closely with the Coulson team to build an office that not only reflects their visual identity, but their values too: quality, clarity, and community. Every material, texture, and layout decision was made to reflect a business built on precision and people.
