Hospitality Entrance

The brief was to replace a temporary marquee with a permanent and premium welcome space for hospitality and corporate guests.

The result is a bespoke shipping container unit, fully fitted out with Ipswich Town branding and tailored to function as an efficient first touchpoint. Visitors are now greeted with a space that feels considered and elevated, setting the right tone before they even enter the stadium.

Natural daylight floods in from a custom roof light, complemented by sleek black track lighting and high-quality finishes. A palette of dark grey and neutral walls, Tarkett concrete-effect LVT flooring, and a ply ceiling balances industrial edge with a contemporary feel.

The look and feel is confident and professional, in line with the club’s growing aspirations.

Emily, Head of Stadia Design at Layrd, said:

“How this space looked and felt from the outside was just as it looked and felt from the inside. This new container was installed to give those using the club’s hospitality offerings that first, vital positive impression.

This container is also positioned at the front of the club, meaning it was vital that it was in keeping with the club’s surroundings. We also wanted this space to provide insight into what those using hospitality can expect throughout the rest of their experience.”

This ribbed black cladding adds a tactile, architectural edge, softened by the contrast of exposed ply and matte-painted walls.

Despite its compact footprint of 7 by 3.5 metres, the unit is highly functional. From a well-positioned check-in desk to a clear one-way system that improves flow on matchdays, every detail is built around comfort and accessibility. DDA-compliant ramps and thoughtful space planning ensure the reception works for all visitors, with a smooth and welcoming arrival experience
