Floatwell

In 2022, we delivered the interior design scheme for Floatwell, a new floatation therapy and wellness centre in Cambridge.

Designing a calm, contemporary wellness space in the heart of Cambridge

Once a residential property, the period building on Station Road was reimagined as a wellness centre, thoughtfully designed to accommodate floatation pods, saunas, a massage room, reception, kitchen, yoga studio and therapy rooms.

Our challenge was to balance practicality with calm, creating a space that would feel welcoming, intuitive and serene from the moment guests stepped inside.

We paired a neutral palette with Floatwell’s signature deep green, grounding the space in warmth and clarity. Natural textures run throughout, with existing timber floorboards uncovered, restored and stained to bring character back to the building. Wayfinding and door signage in a brushed brass finish add quiet elegance and help guide guests through the experience with ease.

Sustainability was considered at every step

Natural finishes, low-VOC paint from Tikkurila, Tarkett carpet tiles and reclaimed flooring all played a part. By sourcing locally and reusing where we could, we kept the footprint light and the impact lasting.

The design respects the character of its period setting, working with the architecture rather than against it. Original features are retained and celebrated, while material choices and colour palettes respond to the building’s heritage and the calm elegance of Cambridge itself.

The result is a peaceful, multi-purpose interior that supports both wellbeing and operational flow, designed to feel as good as it functions.
