STADIA INTERIOR DESIGN

Layrd Design delivered a sophisticated new hospitality space for Ipswich Town Football Club, creating the S&P Lounge - a premium environment that weaves industrial elegance with subtle musical influences. Soler & Palau Ventilation Group is a global leader in ventilation systems and an official sponsor of Ipswich Town Football Club.

The space shows off an exposed ceiling with S&P's ventilation systems – a tribute to the sponsor's expertise. Bold, face-lit S&P signage makes a striking statement, while thoughtful graphic elements are used throughout the design. The S&P Lounge enhances the club's hospitality offering at Portman Road, setting a new standard for premium matchday experiences.

The brief called for an elevated high-end space that quietly celebrates Ed Sheeran's relationship with the club. Subtle design details reveal themselves gradually to guests over multiple visits. The result is a sophisticated environment where every detail tells a story - from the bespoke linear pendant lights inspired by album titles to the innovative acoustic rafts that trace the sound waves of his songs.

HIGH-END HOSPITALITY

Drawing inspiration from classic brasseries, we developed a rich material palette combining metallic finishes with deep blues and orange hues, nodding to the iconic Ed Sheeran away kit. A numerical feature wall, crafted using four different depths of MDF and finished with a terracotta stone spray, adds warmth and dimensional interest to the space. The bespoke plectrum bar by Revelare stands as a centrepiece, featuring powder-coated copper-tone details and a custom-designed bar gantry that not only provides an ergonomic workspace for staff but also creates a stunning display with integrated planting from The Good Plant Company.

Flexibility was key to space planning, with sharing tables allowing the club to tailor the space for each event. Actiu chairs, consistent with other club spaces, maintain design continuity while ensuring comfort. Flooring placement creates distinct zones, differentiating between guest areas and back-of-house spaces for easy wayfinding.
