Layrd Design specialise in commercial interior design, offering bold, character-driven design packages and fit-out works nationwide. We work closely and collaboratively with you, as well as with our expert contractors and suppliers, to offer a design and build service which meets all of your needs. We run our projects from start to finish, liaising directly with onsite teams to ensure the project runs to schedule and to the highest level of detail.
We're a team of experienced and creative interior designers, with specialisms in workplace, gym and leisure, hospitality and retail design.
We work with you to create exciting new spaces with a focus on sustainability, inclusivity and wellbeing.
MEET THE TEAM
Will Mayes
DIRECTOR
Will is the Founder and Director of Layrd Design. He has 10 years in the creative industry and started Layrd in 2019 with the vision of building a creative and engaging interior design studio.
Will has been nominated for various awards and won Silver for Young Businessperson of the Year in the Cambridge SME Awards in 2022.
Emily Gray
Emily is always going out of her way to support everyone in any way she can. She puts love and care into everything she does and thrives in planning and organisation. Team culture and wellbeing are top priorities for Emily.
Running a small Etsy business takes up the majority of Emily’s spare time. She can be found making soy wax candles and eco-friendly home fragrance gifts in her kitchen ready for local markets.

Eleanor Penny
Eleanor is passionate about bringing sustainability & wellness into every aspect of design, with a keen eye for the finer details. As a designer, she is enthusiastic about understanding each client’s unique vision, and bringing this to life.

Outside of the design world, Eleanor’s favourite activities include finding new vegan food spots & petting any dog she can find.

Gina Clarke
Gina’s design interests lie in creating bespoke, memorable spaces for all to experience. Colour and character are her forté. She believes that good design can change the world and keeps sustainability, inclusivity and wellbeing at the heart of her design ethos.
Being wellness-minded in both design and lifestyle, in her free time she enjoys adventures in her campervan and climbing the occasional mountain.

Emily Batten
Our Designer, Emily, believes collaboration and forward thinking to be the key to success in Interior Design. With a BA in Fine Art and Design and a Master’s in interior design, Emily looks at her designs with a fun and colourful approach which matches her outgoing and social personality.

Outside of office hours, Emily can be found exploring new restaurants and pubs, and taking her dog on long walks on the beach.
