STADIA INTERIOR DESIGN

The Ipswich Town Home Dressing Room was installed on-site within two weeks during the pre-season period with full turnkey interior design, fit-out, joinery and project management in collaboration with GS Contracts. Completed in July 2024, Layrd transformed the tired and out-of-date space, working around mid-season friendlies, elevating it to Premier League standard in time for the first game.

Enhancing the player experience, we created an atmosphere that’s motivational on match days and stands out in modern football. Comfortably accommodating 26 people, the Blue LED-lit space has custom players locker bays each consisting of an upholstered seat and backrest, hidden locker, boot storage and player name plaque. The bespoke units maximise space usage and fit the existing space.

A decorative bulkhead, designed with club graphics and LED feature strips tie in Ipswich Town’s unique identity and values. Working closely with the club, we embedded their history with careful consideration of the colour scheme and club slogan “Running Towards Adversity”. Zoned lighting controls to ensure the dressing room is not only exceptional for player use but also remarkable for stadium tours and media use.

Player facilities were a focus for the club, so making a space that motivates and inspires the team on matchdays was integral. The bays are positioned strategically, ensuring that players are all facing one another and treated equally. The space is flexible for team changes, with interchangeable player plaques.

“Working with Layrd has been a fantastic experience for our club. Emily approached each project with creativity, professionalism and a deep understanding of our brand and vision. From the initial consultation to the final installation, Layrd demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional results that exceeded our expectations.

Most importantly, Layrd's people-focused approach and adaptability made them a true collaborator throughout the process. They listened closely to our needs, provided innovative solutions, and ensured smooth project delivery.”

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

We’ve been mindful to make environmentally responsible choices throughout, using natural and sustainable materials wherever possible, including recyclable Tarkett flooring. The central unit was rewrapped to minimise our use of new materials. We also used local trades and suppliers to lower the carbon footprint of the project.

PROJECT TEAM

“In developing this design, it was crucial to ensure that it embodied the current spirit of the club. Following back-to-back promotions, the excitement surrounding the club is well-deserved, and this environment had to capture that achievement.”
