Layrd completed a full turnkey project for Ipswich Town Football Club’s new, high-end Gamechanger Suite in August of 2024 in collaboration with GS Contracts. The project was on-site under strict time restrictions for six weeks pre-season ahead of their first Premier League game.
The Gamechanger Suite is a brand-new hospitality space, merging two executive boxes to create one larger space designed to represent the promotion and a new era at the club. Functionality is maximised, as we’ve put the space to greater use with a high-end suite, which now occupies up to 40 guests. This fully tailored experience has been built for club owners to enjoy on game days and to celebrate their success. The client asked us to create a non-traditional hospitality offering with table service. We delivered a bold, striking and modern interior representative of the club’s projection.
By incorporating a neutral colour scheme with black, copper and natural timber finishes, we’ve created a warm and welcoming environment that is high-end yet comfortable. A dark mesh ceiling grid and bespoke fluted wall add depth and texture to the scheme. Every detail has been designed with intention, from the holographic logo for a futuristic feel to meaningful signage around the suite.

Our network of trusted suppliers and trades are prepared for on-site challenges and can quickly and creatively resolve issues to keep projects on track. The bespoke oak bar with a black metal front was redesigned onsite to fit with water pipes discovered upon installation. Thorough planning and seamless coordination with on-site teams ensured timely delivery and meticulous execution of the design scheme.
We ensured our design for The Gamechanger Suite was adaptable, meeting the diverse needs of our client desired uses of the space. Ipswich Town can use the suite both on and off match day, with a flexible floor plan that can support a range of stadium events, such as conferences and meetings. This allows for 40 Classroom style, 90 boardroom style, 200 Banquet Style and 60 U-shape seating.
Innovative lighting means our client can personalise the space and adjust the ambience depending on use. We worked with Connolly Electrical to install a system with four different lighting models: Cleaning, Conference (A), Conference (B) and Dinner mode.
