ANATOLIA

Anatolia
Haverhill, Suffolk

Anatolia, a Mediterranean Grill and Cocktail Bar based in Suffolk approached Layrd Design in 2022 to redesign a hospitality premise in Haverhill. The request was to create an authentic and luxurious dining experience, serving traditional and exceptional flavours. The existing space was previously occupied by a Turkish restaurant, a vast area with plenty of potential and existing fixtures to reuse.

Designer Eleanor's scheme features two distinguishable zones, a traditional dining area and a luxurious cocktail bar. Textures and materials served as a starting point, with a clear use of Mediterranean inspiration.

A palette of blue and white, rich timber effect flooring and marble tables mixed with soft lighting and patterned tiles add a high end feel to the restaurant. Panelled archways bring the space to life, offering individual booths for special occasions. A slatted divider separates the space, cleverly leading through to the colourful and playful cocktail bar.

A striking palette of pink, green and blue oozes opulence throughout the cocktail area. Here, customers can sit, lounge and enjoy handcrafted cocktails.

Designer Eleanor developed a material palette of rich wood, traditional tiles, luxurious marble paired with brass trims and faux foliage to create an atmospheric and memorable experience. A conscious decision was made to utilise the existing bar, cladding the original fixture with vibrant pink tiles. Bespoke shelving adds a luxurious touch of glamour, providing ample storage and a gorgeous display.

SUSTAINABLE
CHOICES

During the design process, Eleanor made mindful choices throughout, using natural and sustainable materials wherever possible.

Tala lighting featured in the bar area accentuates the look and feel of the scheme, using high quality premium materials, minimising end-of-life impacts. Utilising previous features such as the large bar area and Wine Cavity reduced unnecessary waste.

A luxurious spa-like bathroom experience was a must for Anatolia. Large mirrors and a soothing colour palette of soft pinks, dark blues and elegant greens promote a sense of calm and relaxation. Statement wallpaper captures the imagination and introduces new life to the space using flora and fauna.
