Meet the Team: Hannah Carlisle

Hannah our FF&E lead talks to us about Designer's Touch, our dedicated finishing service. For Hannah, it’s about curating the final layer of a project that turns each space into a sensory experience.

Tell us a little more about you and your role.

Hello, I’m Hannah. I lead Designers Touch, Layrd’s sister company, while being the FF&E Designer for the Layrd team.My role is dedicated to interior finishing; it’s my job to source the perfect products and curate objects that elevate our projects and help bring spaces to life. From furniture to the final styling, I work in close collaboration with the designers to ensure every detail serves a purpose and adds depth to a design.

Why did you want to join Layrd?

When I first came across Layrd, I was completely wowed by how vibrant a company it was and made it my mission to find a way to work there. When this opportunity came up, running a completely new division, I knew it was my dream role!

What does a typical day look like for you in the studio?

My day involves creating visual proposals, preparing schedules and costings, and coordinating orders and installation dates. I spend a lot of time researching new suppliers and products and collaborating with the rest of team to make sure everything is reflecting the right aesthetic and coming in budget.

What’s your favourite part of the process?

I do love a concept board. I love playing around visually with what works and getting that buzz when you find that magic combination of colours, textures and aesthetic.

Where do you get your daily design inspiration from?

I love the world of high-end creative agencies. I’m fascinated by the curation of brand experiences where every single detail is intentional. While brand pop-ups and large-scale events operate in a different industry to commercial interiors, the core objective is the same: to build immersive, memorable environments that foster a deep emotional connection. Sometimes meticulous attention to detail is rare in day-to-day life, so I am inspired by how these productions show what’s possible when every element is so thoughtfully considered.

Tell us about your dream project you would love to work on.

Probably a private members' club or a boutique hotel – environments that offer a blend of creative freedom and a diverse range of spaces to create.Currently, we’re involved in a project where we are shaping the brand identity in tandem with the interiors, and this is such an exciting process. Being on board fromday one in this way is always the dream project!
