N17 BOARDROOM

Project Overview

North East Based N17 required a flexible and multi-functional space in their new office building in which to hold meetings, host seminars and regular hospitality events. To emphasise the existing architecture of the building, we decided to use the large window to maximise natural light within the space, whilst allowing a variety of textures and colours to be included in the scheme. To encourage adaptability the kitchenette became a key element to the design, allowing the room to be used in complete isolation from the rest of the office. A large sliding timber door can hide the kitchen, when required, for a formal meeting or talk, whilst still allowing access for refreshments when needed.

For this multi-purpose space to be successful, we carefully considered how lighting would impact each use. 

Elements such as task lighting create a feature for formal meetings, also providing the correct LUX levels, whilst ambience has been addressed through the use of window pendents and directional wall lights to accommodate a more informal use. To give the client full use of these elements, we have introduced pre-programable 'scenic' settings and adjustable levels, to quickly adapt the space between functions.

INTERIOR DESIGN

When used as a meeting room, this space can comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 people. Power modules within the table are directly linked to a projector and speaker system allowing a seamless connection for all users.

As seen in the images, the kitchenette can be open and accessible, or concealed by the sliding door on which a glass board is mounted for use during meetings and talks.

N17 wanted the room to allow additional functions like seminars and group talks. There is a large storage space at the back of the room that holds additional chairs when not in use, and the main conference table. Used in this way, the room can comfortably accommodate seating for 24 people for formal talks and seminars.

We are extremely impressed with how multifunctional this space really is, and are proud to host clients in such a professional looking space. We are looking forward to enjoying it with our employees and adapting the space. 

We particularly love the addition of the kitchenette and will make good use of this everyday.
