CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS
Layrd Design completed the interior design and construction drawings for Coulson Building Group in May of 2023. Coulson Building Group provides a comprehensive range of building services to private and public sector clients, contributing to commercial, high-tech buildings, education, health and residential developments throughout East Anglia and beyond.
To stand out in the construction industry, Coulson Building Group requires a space that can show off its expertise and appropriately welcome clients. We gathered workforce input through surveys to understand preferences and create the right space for the team. Growing too big for the old space, Coulson Building Group needed its new office layout to be adaptable to continuous changes in team size.
Leveraging their colours, we transformed the client’s workspace into a reflection of its core identity. While the brand utilises a bold, deep blue, we strategically incorporated softer, muted tones throughout the design. This maintains a clear connection to their brand image while fostering an environment conducive to focus and productivity. Commercial spaces should not only resonate with a company's brand but also prioritise the well-being and performance of employees.

ACOUSTIC COMFORT
The new office space considers all work personalities within the team. Acoustic solutions soundproof areas for concentration, private working spaces have been implemented and the breakout space is designed for use beyond lunchtime. Fitted booth seating supplies this as another option for meetings and comfy soft seating promotes this for use as a social space.
Our client wanted the space to be organised into teams, ensuring that desks all had natural light. We incorporated five new private offices with glass partitioning to ensure interconnection across the company. While workstations are separated, the finished space still fosters a sense of community.
